MURIEL TRAMIS
Three screen video installation
conceived by Sharine Rijsenburg in collaboration with Nadine Jongeling, revisits three pioneering games by Muriel Tramis—Mewilo (1987), Freedom: Rebels in the Darkness (1988), and Lost in Time (1993). It explores how colonial histories persist not as complete narratives, but as fragments, echoes, and recurring moments. Across three screens, gameplay footage is interwoven with archival imagery from Martinique and new 3D animation drawn from Tramis’ games. These layers form a shifting landscape where past and present intersect. Motifs, characters, and sounds move fluidly between digital worlds and lived histories, linking Caribbean heritage with diasporic culture.
PARADEIS PERDI
The short film Paradeis Perdí will take the viewer on a journey through the collective memory of a colonial history. What constitutes a Curaçaon cultural identity and how does it appear in our collective memory? By collecting and combining different types of archive images with stories of Caribbean residents, this film will explore the deep-rooted meaning of a Caribbean heritage.
An ode to an archive which continues to be home to versatile images that we cannot, will not, or choose not to see.
